Privacy policy

Hold Off is designed to keep your shopping life private. We do not require an account, and the things you save, buy, or choose not to buy stay on your iPhone.

The short version: we do not track you, show ads, or sell personal data. The only information that can leave the app is anonymous setup feedback you explicitly choose to share and feedback you explicitly send.

What stays on your device

The following is stored locally on your iPhone and is not transmitted to us:

Your Sleep-On-It list, including saved item names, prices, links, and images.
Your wins, savings totals, streaks, settings, and reminder choices.
The apps or categories you choose to pause. Screen Time selections are handled through Apple’s system tools; we do not receive a list of them.
Your browsing and purchase activity. Hold Off does not see what you browse or buy.

Deleting the app removes this on-device data. Hold Off does not keep a cloud backup of it.

Optional anonymous improvement data

After setup, Hold Off asks whether you want to help improve the app. It is off unless you opt in. If you agree, the app may send your setup answers: the types of apps that tempt you, when urges tend to happen, a broad spending range, and how you found Hold Off.

Separately, if you choose to send in-app feedback, we receive the rating and message you submit. These submissions include a random per-install token so we can avoid duplicate responses and understand trends. It is not your name, email address, Apple ID, or device identifier, and is not used to track you across apps or websites.

How we use and store that information

We use optional anonymous feedback only to understand aggregate product patterns and improve Hold Off. It is stored with Supabase, which acts as a service provider for Hold Off. We do not use advertising SDKs, sell data, or use this information for cross-app or cross-site tracking.

You can turn off future optional improvement data any time in Settings → Improve Hold Off. Because optional submissions are not tied to your identity, we generally cannot locate a particular submission. If you sent feedback and can identify it, contact us and we will try to help.

Payments

Any subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store. Hold Off does not receive or store your card number, billing address, or payment details.

Notifications

Hold Off uses local notifications scheduled on your device to remind you when an item is ready to revisit. We do not operate a push-notification server for these reminders.

Children

Hold Off is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
